Did you realize when you bought a metrocard this morning, you spent just a little more? I was heated this morning at the train station, like.. "WHERE'S MY CHANGE?" only to find out, that the fares have gone up, once again. I read somehwere that it's predicted that by 2010 a monthly metrocard will be $112.00. Why are they trying to make it impossible for us New Yorkers to live? Here are the new rates:

Base fare remains $2.00. Base express bus fare remains $5.00.

Unlimited ride cards will increase to: 1-Day Fun Pass: $7.50. 7-Day Unlimited Ride MetroCard: $25. 30-Day Unlimited Ride MetroCard: $81.

Cost of 7-Day Express Bus Plus MetroCard remains $41.
