ATF Exclusive: Case Interview
Now you know ATF always brings that exclusive sh*t. Well ATF's own Ian Jarrell sat down with R&B singer, Case. We know you all remember him. Some of your kids have probably been made to his songs. He has been out of sight for about 8 years, and hasn't released an album since 2001. Now, he is trying to comeback in a big way with his latest project "The Rose Experience".
Case has been through some rough things since he has been away from the game, but he took the time out to sit down with All That's Fab. Take a look at our exclusive interview with him after the jump, and answer this question, "Are today's music lovers ready for music from Case?"
Exclusive Track : I Cant - Case
Ian: So how you been man? It’s been awhile since we heard from you.
Case: I have been good man. Just grinding and trying to put out this album ya know.
Ian: So what made you decide to return to music?
Case: I don’t call it a return. I just took a break. I wanted to focus on my family. And I went through a lot of rough things while I was away. I got into a bad accident and I shot myself by mistake. So I had a rough time off. I moved to Atlanta also with my family.
Ian: Oh my you shot yourself?
Case: Yeah! (Laughs)
Ian: So what made you come out at this time? Do you feel that people are truly ready for Case? Everyone wants to dance these days.
Case: I feel this is a good time to come out. People are ready for something a little different. When there are a bunch of red shirts in a store, you will notice that one white one. I consider myself that white one.
Ian: I understand you totally, so what is your goal for 2009 and/or wishes?
Case: I really don’t have any goals. I just want people to hear my new music. I put in a lot of work and time into this project. I just hope it is successful.
Ian: So what should your fans expect from this album? We are so use to your smooth love songs. Is it the same thing this time around?
Case: I added a little something more, but I gave the fans what they know me for. I had to stay true to Case.
Ian: Now I have to ask you this.
Case: Go ahead.
Ian: Now we all know that you had Beyonce in one of your earlier videos. Did you think she would blow up like she has?
Case: Actually I did, she was always determined. I have a funny story about that day. We shot that video right before I had to go on tour. When I told her about the tour she responded “I can’t wait till we get to go on tour”. Now she is selling out concerts on her own.
Ian: That is funny. Its crazy how things can change over time. You go from cameo video girl to international superstar. So what artist are you feeling right now?
Case: I am really feeling Chris Brown & T-Pain. T-pain has amazing skills. His writing is incredible. Chris Brown is very talented.
Ian: So what are some of your favorite tracks on your upcoming album “The Rose Experience”?
Case: I have to go with “Me & U” and “I Can’t”. I actually cried while recording I Can’t. It was verty hard for me to get through that song. It really reflects on what I went through during my time away from music.
Ian: So I see you have production from Mario Winans. How was it working with him?
Case: He was so cool. He is very talented. I loved working with that man.
Ian: In closing I want to ask, have you changed your team with this recent project?
Case: Yes I have. I had to do it. I am no longer with Def Jam Recordings. My new home is Sire Records. I love it over there. I have a really good team behind me these days. I am truly happy with everything.
Ian: I am glad things are looking up for you. Thank you so much for doing this interview with us. We at All that’s Fab are true fans.
Case: No thank you man. It was a pleasure.
