Fab Man: JahFree!
We came across JahFree's Myspace page through a friend, and I couldn't stop admiring his style and originality. I don't really like to compare people to each other, but I have a thing for Travis of Gym Class Heroes, and JahFree definitely reminds me of him. We later learned that, like Travis, he is a talented artist signed to a major label who also has a lot up his sleeve. Let's get to know more about JahFree...
1) Tell us a little bit about yourself and what it is you do for a living:
What's up, my name is JahFree and I'm an R&B singer currently signed to Dreamhouse/Warner Bros Records and I'm an entertainer for a living. I was born and raised in West Covina, where I discovered my love for music in the middle school choir. I grew up on the R&B of the 90's with Jodeci, Shai, and Boyz II Men. But I also would listen to Rage Against The Machine, Nirvana and Green Day, along with 2pac, Biggie, and Snoop Dogg. I also love the older generations music, like Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye and Bob Marley.
2.) How did you get started in your career?
Once I knew I wanted to sing, I begin singing on anything I could. Once I graduated I signed a few independent deals but nothing really happened until Dreamhouse got my demo tape. I got signed to Dreamhouse/Warner Bros and now I'm working the likes of DJ Skee, Fingazz who produced my 1st single, and Julio G to name a few.
3.) Are you single or taken?
I'm single and ready to mingle...definitely open.
4.) If you were about to go on a blind date, and you had to describe yourself to that person, what would you tell them?
I'm 5'7 ½ with nice caramel skin, I look grown but not too grown, with a nice smile, dreadlocks that are not too pretty and not too gritty and I have Swag, just look for the 1st good looking guy you see with dreads and that's me!
5.) Describe your ideal woman:
Wow there are so many, I would love a woman who has an understanding of what I do, someone that respects me as a man, knows that I'm going to do whatever it takes even though I'm in the music business to make the relationship work. I'd like a strong woman, any shade of color, a real lady, somebody that gets their nails done and smells good. Someone that will make me feel like I have to be on my toes. It kind of sucks because I haven't found her yet. I like smooth skin; because I'm pretty soft myself ya know (lol). And lastly, someone that feels good in their skin.
6.) We're sure that you get approached a lot by women. What is the craziest thing that a woman has done to get your attention?
Actually a young lady at a show flashed me, not sure if she was trying to get at me, but she definitely got my attention
7.) What is the quickest way for a woman to get dismissed by you?
Bad Feet, if her feet are fucked up then her cunany probably isn't right, (lol). Hair under the arms, and if she expects me to pay all the time, chicks can even pretend to pay I wouldn't mind. You'll also be dismissed if you don't look the same in the morning as you did last night, you have dirty nails, stank breath, loud and bossy. But the flip side of that is I can find something I like in every woman.
8.) What is something that no one knows about you?
I'm a pretty open person, hmm. Well for the general public I'm a father of a 3 year old beautiful daughter
9.) What do you do to chill out and relax?
Get a nice reasonable size bottle of Jack Daniels, speak and listen to Bob Marley and write songs with a Kush blunt!
10.) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Honestly, I see myself owning something, successful in the music business where I have the option to just write and not just be an artist and I'd like to be alive!
