This week’s fab man of the week is Lamar James. He is a model/actor that lives in New York City. His face has been all over the place recently. You've probably seen him in Sean John, Rocawear, & Fila ads. ATF’s Ian Jarrell interviewed Lamar James and is letting you fab readers get to know the man behind this handsome face. From the runway to your computer screen, here’s Lamar James…. Name: Lamar James Occupation: Model/Actor Status: Girlfriend, who is the best Zodiac Sign: Taurus Ian Jarrell: Lamar, where did you go to school? Lamar James: I went to school in Kansas. Ian Jarrell: If you weren’t a model, what do you think you'd be? Lamar James: I graduated with a Visual Communications Degree. I would work for a magazine or graphic design company if I wasn’t modeling. Ian Jarrell: If you had to choose a reality show to be on, which would it be? Lamar James: I am shooting one as we speak. Can’t you give any details right now. Ian Jarrell: Now a follow up question, if you had to be on any TV show, what would that be? Lamar James: I would have to go with Entourage. It’s the best show in history, in my opinion. Ian Jarrell: Who are some of your idols? And why? Lamar James: Athletes and NBA players. That’s the only job you start to prepare for at the age of 5. You just don’t go to college for 4 years. So I respect all Basketball Players. College, Semi Pro, or NBA Ian Jarrell: Would you ever go nude for work? Lamar James: I have before, it was A very artistic shoot. It was blown up to 20 ft. The photos were for a gallery showing. Nothing morally bad like porn or sleezy stuff or for some nasty photographer. l_23f61767297b3bbf7c4b030b844a99a5.jpg Ian Jarrell: Now we have to get to know you better. I always like to do this with our fab men. I am going to ask you some of you favorite things. So what is your most favorite thing in the world? Lamar James: Basketball, Basketball, and more Basketball Favorite models: I don't really follow the model industry like that. Just my friends I see at all the castings. They are my favorites. They are trying to make something good for themselves. Favorite Restaurant in NYC: Spice on 10th and Unversity. It’s a trendy Thai spot. I eat there weekly. Favorite TV Show: NBA and Entourage Favorite Reality TV show: Flavor of Love (when it runs). It’s like a horror. Its scares us all when those girls kiss on Flavor Flav Favorite Artists: Pimp C and Bun B of UGK(Houston Syrup sippin music) Favorite Genre of Music: Down south country rap shit. Gutter music Favorite clubs in NYC: I go to damn near every club in NYC. Favorite Designers: Gucci and Creative Recreation Ian Jarrell: Name some people in the industry, that you can call a friend…: Lamar James: There are a lot, maybe Diddy. I will have to ask him though (laughs). Ian Jarrell: Tell our readers what have you done in that past? Lamar James: Rocawear, Sean John, I.N.C., Loreal, KSwiss, S.Carter, Fila, Betsey Johnson, Moschino, Nike Commercials, Reebok. The list goes on man. Ian Jarrell: So tell us what are the qualities of your perfect woman? Lamar James: The best woman is a sexy, exotic, athletic, goal oriented woman with morals and values. If she does not have God in her life, what can I do with her. Nothing. Ian Jarrell: How was it working with Diddy? Lamar James: I’ve worked with Diddy several times and it's alot of fun. To listen to him speak to his employees is funny. He always knows what he wants and usually gets it. He is a cool person. But the best thing about working for Diddy is that you know that there is always an after party (laughs). No matter what city we are in. Ian Jarrell: You were apart of the historical Sean John runway show, how was that? Lamar James: It was cool. We made history and the whole industry took notice. They need to take the black models serious. We look good too. But overall, it was very fun and the prep for it was cool to be apart of. Ian Jarrell: When did you decide to get into modeling? Lamar James: The same day I graduated from college in Kansas. I got a call from NYC and I moved 10 days later on $500 bucks Ian Jarrell: Wow that is crazy, it’s kind of like my story. That really shows your drive and determination to be successful. Lamar James: That’s the only way to succeed man. You got to have a passion. Ian Jarrell: What makes you different from most models? Lamar James: I don't dress like gay dude at castings (laughs). Nah, I'm always honest and don't lie about the work that I am getting. I got swagg too. I can actually pull the top shorties at the parties, not just look at them all night. That’s why I got my bad shorty now. Ian Jarrell: Tell are readers something most people don't know about you? Lamar James: I’m from real poverty where PayLess shoes, free lunch, powder milk, and government cheese are the best options. We was on welfare all my life, my mother never made more than $5 an hour in her life, my brother is in prison for 25 years. I’ve had foster parents and guardians. I have to take care of a lot of people. I don't do this for me, I do this for us. Ian Jarrell: What was your best and worst gig? Lamar James: I've had a couple bad jobs where gay photographers or stylist have tried to take advantage of me or other models. Those were probably my worst. I look after those models who don't know the business so they don't get taken advantage of. You know they come from places like Mississippi or some shit like that. They don't know this entertainment life or how some of these people think or work.   Ian Jarrell: And what was the best gig of them all, but you can’t say Sean John.. Lamar James: My best was Fila. I did a 4 hour photo shoot and I got so much money, plus I was the only model and the ads ran in every men’s magazine for 12 straight months along with billboards. Since its not high fashion but athletic wear, it reached so many more demographics and countries. Ian Jarrell: Why should are readers be interested in you? Lamar James: Because I’m a realist and this is only the beginning of what is to come. I have a lot in the works. Please bookmark me now (laughs). l_664ab0f4bfda3076c63846f3c1e10bff.jpg l_143816b2a451433da7e4cb43ecf63ea6.jpg  l_07c6c6add91a0914926f9f99fe5667f7.jpg new.jpg 3.jpg l_d756b124679d3e37ed377074424c197d.jpg
