Common Performs at Providence
Last night was one of the most random and fun nights I've had in NYC--(and No it's not because I was within 3 feet of my #1 husband, Common, lol.) My girls and I went out eating, hit up Charles Hamilton's Party (will provide pictures from that event later today!), then the Common show, then 105 Rivington, then back to Charles Hamilton's Party. There was too much to do, and we couldn't make every event last night.
I was a little frustrated because
the invite we recieved for the Common show didn't even have the time on it, so I had to ASSUME that the show started at 9:00pm. Well I was 100% wrong, and with my luck, as soon as I walk into Providence Common is performing The Light, his last song for the night. Come to find out, the show started at 6:00pm! I missed the entire listening party and the performance of one of my favorite artists. Oh well.
If I would have gotten there on time I believe it would have been a great party. I heard Common was just chilling in the crowd talking to people and being his humble ol' self. I also heard Serena was somewhere around---but I didn't see her.
Anyway, I have heard some of his songs from Universal Mind Control and it sounds like a great album. I will be purchasing it today so pretty soon I'll give you guys a full review. You can actually purchase Common's album today for 99 cents. Check out the flyer below:
I tried to get footage of Common performing The Light but unfortunately the video didn't come out clear enough. Thanks to Moises for the photos:
