We reported yesterday that Ashanti is all set to play Dorothy in 'The Wiz', a role made famous by Diana Ross in 1978. While there was a tiny uproar and some really confused looks on the faces of our readers, I'm thinking this could possibly be a success.

"Im excited. I watched the DVD twice already,” she told MTV News. “I’m definitely going to have it on repeat.”

No matter how terrible people knew 'Obsessed' was going to be... no matter how much they clowned Beyonce and threw food at the television screen whenever the trailer came on...they still went out to see it, making it the NUMBER ONE movie in America. Who's to say folks won't travel from far and wide to see Ashanti? The pressure is rising with each passing day.

"I think it's definitely going to be pressure, but in a good way. Broadway is so prestigious, and just getting that experience and getting to work with more seasoned actors is exciting," she said. "Broadway, it's a horse of a different color."
