Irv Gotti to Ashanti: I Don't Think That She Can Win
Irv Gotti recently discussed his relationship with Ashanti on MTV.com, saying that he is dropping her from Murder Inc. as a result of creative differences. See what he had to say after the jump.
"The relationship has run its course," Gotti explained earlier this week while visiting the MTV offices. "The chemistry of what's needed — we're in two totally different places. You're talking to somebody that took her and shaped and molded her and put her out there for the world, and it blew up. We [hold the record] for the [fastest] selling debut by a female R&B artist — 503 [thousand]. We did it! My views and philosophies and her views and philosophies are not meeting up."
He definitely has a point there. Whenever artists stray away from their initial image and fan base, they always take a gamble. However, Ashanti seems to be doing well for herself, considering her recent gig as Dorothy on "The Wiz". Best of luck to her.
