We were really rooting for this couple. But after the *surprise* Nas and Kelis break-up, we've lost hope for true celeb love. Shoot, we still haven't gotten over the Russel & Kimora Simmons divorce!

Moving on, The New York Daily News has confirmed that Nelly and Ashanti have just recently officially broken up, despite numerous rumors that they've been broken up for over a year. 

*Update: Many blogs are reporting that Nelly has been seen a lot with model, Melyssa Ford, and that she is the reason for the breakup; however, confirmed sources say that she and Nelly have a strictly professional relationship and these rumors are grossly untrue. The real "Jessica Rabbit" that has been seen with Nelly is model, Jessika Maximus. Miss. Ford released this statement:

"My relationship with Nelly is strictly professional. As the former spokesmodel for Apple Bottoms, our interaction was amicable but limitied to work. I have no t seen or spoken to Nelly in 2 years so the person they are referring to in the media as "Jessica Rabbit" is not me.
