Over the weekend, Run DMC was in Queens to celebrate the renaming of the intersection of 205th St. and Hollis Ave after them. Many fans came out to support the group and they were wearing the group's trademark Adidas sneakers according to NYDailyNews.com. Jam Master Jay's mother also attended the event and said:

Run DMC was one the of biggest rap groups in the 1980's and still to this day they influence many rappers to pursue a career in the industry.
