Oprah Says Only God Is Powerful Enough To Get Her To Run For President

Many Donald Trump resisters have been calling out to Oprah Winfrey, talk show queen, to run for president in 2020. After her moving Golden Globe speech, many see her as a guaranteed to beat President Donald Trump.

Oprah says she'll only run if God wants her to do it.

According to Oprah, she's praying for guidance. After the attention she got from her inspirational Golden Globe speech, people from all around the country have been crying out for her to throw her hat into the ring for the 2020 election.

She always said she would never do that, but now she's praying for guidance.

Despite the record-low approval ratings for Trump, the Democratic Party just doesn't seem to have it together enough to secure a win. The message, thus far, has been horrible.

‘'We don't suck as much as the other guys’ seems to be the best that party leaders can do these days, and while that may be true, Americans are (historically speaking) often reluctant to hand over the reins to a new leader. Most presidents win re-election, so if the Democratic Party wants to shake things up they are going to have to do better than just complain about the GOP.

They're going to have to present an exciting new candidate that people will want to put in the Oval Office.

When you think about it, could anyone be a better candidate than Oprah? Many say she's the reason Barack Obama, then a young junior Senator, won his party's nomination for the 2008 election.

Clinton initially looked like she was going to take it; Oprah turned Obama into a serious contender.

The media mogul has millions of fans who feel her calm, level-headed demeanor, her optimism and diplomatic skills are just what the country needs right now to heal the rift and bring the country back together.

While in the past, Oprah has always insisted she would never get into politics, she seems to be mulling it over.

"I had enough people, billionaires calling me, saying I can get you a billion dollars, I can run your campaign," she told People. "And I went into prayer. God, if you think I’m supposed to run, you gotta tell me, and it has to be so clear that not even I can miss it."

Fans may be disappointed to hear that Oprah doesn't feel she's been given the green light by any supreme beings, yet. Her best friend, CBS News anchor Gayle King, has been doing her part to try and persuade her, though.

"Gayle – who knows me as well as I know myself practically – has been calling me regularly and texting me things, like a woman in the airport saying, 'When's Oprah going to run?'"

"So Gayle sends me these things, and then she'll go, 'I know, I know, I know! It wouldn't be good for you – it would be good for everyone else.' I was just like 'Oh Gayle, forget it,'" she said.

There is still plenty of time for Oprah to make her decision; it’s only 2018, after all. Perhaps she’s waiting to see how this year’s mid-term elections turn out before making up her mind.  No one should get their hopes up, though.

“I've always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not,” Oprah has said in the past regarding running for office.  “And so it's not something that interests me. I don't have the DNA for it.”
