White House Denies That Melania Has Moved Out Amid Rumors of President's Affairs

First Lady Melania Trump has been keeping a very low profile ever since allegations that her husband had two affairs in 2006 surfaced. Mrs. Trump has refused to respond to the affairs, which her husband has denied, but the couple has not been spending much time together since the news broke.

They've even taken separate motorcades on occasion rather than going places together. Reporters wanted to know during Monday's press briefing if rumors about Melania secretly staying in Washington D.C. suburbs, rather than in the White House with her husband.

Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded to a reporter who asked if reports that Melania and her son, Barron Trump, are currently living at the Washington home of her parents, rather than in the White House. According to Sanders, it's not true.

The rumors began when the Washington Post reported the unverified rumor. The Trumps and their behavior have been under scrutiny in the wake of allegations that Trump had an affair in 2006 with porn star Stormy Daniels. Trump's lawyer paid Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, the sum of $130,000 to sign a non-disclosure agreement just days before the 2016 election.

Daniels is currently suing Trump and his attorney, Michael Cohen, to free herself from the NDA so that she can speak freely about her relationship with Trump.

In addition to Daniels, former Playboy model Karen McDougal came forward just days later to say that she and Trump also had an affair in 2006. The affair, she says, lasted for several months, and she claims that she and the former reality star were in love.

Rumors about the Trump having marital troubles have been swirling for more than a year. According to some unverified reports, Melania was just holding on until the election was over.

She was reportedly waiting with the divorce papers, ready to end the marriage, and was devastated when Trump won the election. It took Melania months to move into the White House, and she has looked very unhappy in her office.

According to the article by the Post, Mrs. Trump attempts to keep to herself in the East Wing, rarely venturing into the West Wing, where her husband and stepdaughter, Ivanka Trump, rule. Melania's friend, however, states that the lack of public displays of affection do not reflect on the couple's private relationship.

“She is a dignified, private person, and she’ll deal with her personal life in private and it’s no one’s business,” said Stephanie Winston Wolkoff to the Post. “They are not that couple that holds hands just because; she is old-world European and it’s not who she is.”

“They have an unspoken affinity,” added Wolkoff.

White House social secretary Rickie Niceta Lloyd told the Post that the notion that the FLOTUS isn't living in the White House is an 'urban legend'.

“It’s 1,000 percent false. We laugh at it all the time,” said Mrs. Trump's spokesperson, Stephanie Grisham.

“Just when you think the Washington Post can’t get things any more wrong, they do,” Sanders said in response to the questions. “That is an outrageous and ridiculous claim. The first lady lives here in the White House, we see her regularly, and I think that’s something that belongs in tabloid gossip, not on the front pages of the Washington Post, and I hope that they’ll do better next time.”
