Amidst Constant Scandals, Piers Morgan Implores Trump To Hire Some Adults

To say that it’s been a rough week for President Trump and his administration would be an understatement. Misstep after misstep has been followed by an endless stream of communications gaffes, and it seems as if there’s a new controversy popping up every other day. Incredibly, White House staff has been incapable of stemming the tide even a little bit, and that points to even rougher seas ahead for team Trump. As the Daily Mail shares, he may want to look at bringing in some crew members with some more navigation experience.

Piers Morgan has penned a column that walks through the week that was in the land of Trump, and it’s a week that has been fraught with landmines. From the firing of FBI director James Comey to an unusual meeting with Russian diplomats - and all points in between and afterward - the optics coming out of the West Wing are crossing the line from unusual to downright concerning. While Trump is the one who will ultimately be held responsible for that, Morgan views it as next to impossible for him to right the ship without making some changes.

“He must create a tighter, far more disciplined ship, and surround himself with experienced and, crucially, respected political operatives who know exactly what they are doing and have the ability to calm rather than worsen the constant storms that batter any White House administration,” Morgan writes.

That’s an entirely fair assessment, and it’s downright amazing that the White House communications staff has not learned the simple concept of getting in front of a story before it even turns into one. We can chalk that up to a lack of experience, but there’s also something to be said for common sense being a prerequisite for holding a job to begin with.

“Right now, he is seemingly surrounded by a bunch of headless chickens that have no idea how to put a brake on all this mayhem or how to exercise any form of control over their boss when he goes rogue,” Morgan continues.

That may sound a little harsh, as Trump is surrounded by some talented people. Unfortunately, talent does not always equate to production, and that’s when it comes time to take a look at changing things up.

“In other words, President Trump needs people who can save him from himself. And he needs them fast,” Morgan concludes.
