Trump Supporter Attacks 12-Year-Old Standing Up For His People - Boy Fights Back

A youth activist is making a name for himself fighting for animals, the environment and human rights. In his latest effort, the 12-year-old attended a city council meeting in Huntington Park, California.

The Mexican-American got the opportunity to speak in support of the immigrants in his community, and how they are suffering under the oppressive immigration laws of President Donald Trump. When the young man walked outside, an angry Trump supporter started an argument with him.

Trump supporters were a little rowdy and angry that evening. One even had to be escorted from the city hall for being boisterous during the meeting.

Another man was standing outside the doors with a Trump flag. He was chanting, "American! American!"

He even accused some of the Mexican-Americans attending the meeting of being jealous of him for that.

The adult man decided to pick on the 12-year-old boy and began shouting at him, asking the boy if he's an American.

Joseph Moreno, a seasoned activist, told him, "I was born here, but I am also half-Mexican.”

When the man asked Moreno if he could vote in Mexico, the clever child pointed out that, at the age of 12, he isn't allowed to vote anywhere. But he says, of course, he would vote if he could.

The entire altercation was filmed on video and put on Facebook. The Trump supporter came off looking like a boorish bully, and continued to attack the pre-teen. Moreno stood his ground. He told the man that he was supporting a racist.

"How is Trump racist?" the man challenged the kid.

“How is he not a racist? He called Mexicans rapists, drug dealers… I’m standing up for my people. When you’re backing down on them, I’m standing up for them.”

The Trump supporter asked the child about illegal immigrants who break the law to be here. The young lad says he respected that, because some people don't have time to wait to go through the proper channels. They are trying to escape poverty and problems in their home country.

"Excuses, excuses, excuses," the Trump supporter said, complaining that "Americans are being thrown under the bus."

The Trump supporter said Moreno would see the light when he grows up. It’s unlikely that this young man is going to drastically change positions, though. Moreno is very vocal about his beliefs and getting involved in politics at an early age. Last month at a May Day protest, he marched with a sign that read, "If you build a wall, my generation will knock it down."

"If they mess with our community, if they mess with our culture, we will not stay silent," Moreno said. "From students to adults, we will come out and speak out for what we believe in."

People began surrounding the two who were arguing and thanked Moreno for his speech in the meeting, and for his activism. One woman applauded him as he argued with the Trump supporter, saying Moreno was a ‘smart young man’.

Veronica Thomas posted the exchange on her Facebook page. “Mark my words... he is a future leader!” she remarked.
