Women Lure Man From Dating Site To Their Apartment - Torture Him For 24 Hours

A young man from the UK met a woman on the dating website, TangoWire, and he thought they had hit it off. The man, who has learning disabilities, thought the two were in a relationship online, and was delighted to finally meet the woman in person. When he was invited to her apartment, he was excited to meet his lady love. When he arrived, she greeted him and let him in. She then turned, locked the door and told him, "You're going to die today."

That's how the blind date from hell started for 27-year-old James Liddell. Tanisha Williams, a 20-year-old Greenwich University student, and her 20-year-old friend, Paige Springer, attacked the man in the apartment shortly after he arrived. He heard Springer on the phone telling friends that she was about to kill someone, then he felt the first blow of a pole hitting him.

Mr. Liddell lost consciousness for a while and started bleeding. The women stripped him naked and threw him into a cold bath. They forced him to stay there, threatening him and beating him, for 24 hours.

“Further threats were made and he was dragged from the lounge to the bathroom by Miss Williams, stripped and made to get into the bath and remained there until he felt cold. His head was pushed under the water and an electric drill was also taken into the bathroom and brandished by Miss Williams, who kept turning it on and off, revving it. He was throttled with the electrical cord of some hair straighteners by Miss Williams,” said the prosecutor.

The victim was terrified and tried banging on the apartment walls in the hope that someone would call police. Springer then threatened to kill him with a knife. The women took turns slapping and kicking him. Springer, who is a mother, attempted to hit the victim on the head with a hammer as she screamed, "I want to kill him, I want to hit him.”

Someone finally came into the apartment and saw the battered, bloody young man. That witness called authorities.

Liddell was treated for his injuries, but the nightmares of the vicious attack still haunt him. He now has a hard time leaving his home alone.

The prosecutor argues that Williams and Springer intended to slowly torture their victim, and had plans to ultimately kill him: "There was a clear intention to cause more injury than he sustained because there were a number of blows that did not connect with any real force."

A lawyer representing Williams said his client 'deeply regrets' the things that she did to Liddell, and blames drugs and alcohol on her state of mind when she attacked him. "It will be her first custodial sentence and she is terrified," he says. "Sometimes she drank to excess and took cannabis and says her anti-depressant tablets turned her into a zombie."

The judge ordered a restraining order, banning Williams and Springer from contacting Liddell for 10 years.
