Beyonce and Jay-Z have reportedly chosen Oprah Winfrey to be the Godmother of their newborn daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.

The Hollywood couple named Oprah and Jay-Z’s good pal, Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith, as the Godparents for their 19-day-old daughter.

Insiders said the couple wanted to choose someone that wasn’t blood related to the child.

Oprah, who has no children of her own, sent a large trunk filled with books for Blue Ivy after her birth.

Beyonce and Jay-Z have developed a close friendship with the media maven through the years. The singer even appeared on Oprah’s farewell show.

But what will Beyonce’s sister Solange and bestie Kelly Rowland think?

Beyonce’s little sister Solange wasn’t chosen as a Godparent but she is prepared to spoil Blue Ivy rotten to get back at the singer for spoiling her 7-year-old son.

Solange said, “This may sound awful, but I’m excited to let the baby do whatever it wants in the same way my sister’s done with my son.

“I’m going to get her back for all those late-night popcorn sessions and just spoiling my child to no end!

“My sister is a phenomenal aunt, so I’m ready to be the same in her life. I don’t need any advice [on how to be a great aunt]. Because she has been a phenomenal aunt to my son, so she’s set the tone as an aunt. I’ve set the tone as a mom, so we’re learning from each other.”

Former Destiny’s child singer, Kelly Rowland, reportedly found out Oprah was chosen as Godparent through the media! Ouch!
