Ecosse Films announced today that Naomi Watts will play Princess Diana in 'Caught in 'Flight,' a film which will depict the last two years of the princess’ life.

Several prominent Hollywood actresses were up for the role, including Carey Mulligan and Charlize Theron.

There are not many details about the film, other than it will be based on Diana’s former bodyguard Ken Wharfe's memoirs, Diana: Closely Guarded Secret, which he released in 2009.
