Ready, Set, Lose Weight!!

Tips to get you ready to lose weight and set goals to do so
With spring here many may feel the need to start getting into shape for the summer. But setting goals and keeping them can be difficult. It's time to get ready and make a change, no more excuses as to why you can't make the change to be healthy. Here are tips to combat reasons that may deter you from working out:
- Time
- Over 60% of people drop their exercise program within 6 months because they don't have enough time. Sound familiar? There are ways to make time for healthy eating and exercise, like making an appointment everyday to work out. There are many benefits to both like energy, living longer, boosting immunity, fighting stress, that it's important to make the time.
- Comfort
- We like to be comfortable, and sometimes lazy and not deal with sore, stiff muscles from working out. Sometimes we can be intimidated by trying something new like a sport, work out class or machine and we may avoid it. But working out is work. Be aware of the challenges so that you can better face them.
- Food
- Food is the hardest to change when we want to lose weight. Food will change how we shop, prepare meals and will also change what happens when we go out for dinners or to parties. Researching new recipes and new ways to cook can be challenging, but have fun with it. Seeing a nutritionist can also help.
- Money
- Money may be tight these days, so joining a gym or getting a trainer may seem to cost too much. But there are lower cost ways to exercise like using exercise DVD’s, walking or running outside, or finding a local gym with a cheap deal.
- Intrapersonal
- Intrapersonal is the changes that happen within ourselves, finding out what we want to accomplish, change, and exploring who we are. This is time to focus on who you want to become, a healthier person.
So set that main goal that you can break down into long-term goals, short-term goals and steps. And don't worry if your goals change along the way, just refocus and restrategize and you will be good to go.
