AllThatsFab Talks to Paula Deanda!

New teen pop sensation, Paula Deanda just touched down in New York, and she took the time out to talk to AllThatsFab.com!  This young lady is so fierce, that Clive Davis signed her on the spot after one audition!  Her new self-titled album is set to release this fall, and features songs with heavy-hitters such as Lil'Wayne, with production by super-producers Timbaland, Ne-Yo, and Stargate.  Not bad for a debut album!

Let's get to know more about Paula:

ATF: I read somewhere that you're 17, is that true?

PD. Yes, I'm 17.

ATF: You seem like such a seasoned performer at a young age. How long have you been performing?

PD: I have been singing and performing since I was 6 years old, but I began my professional career at 16, a year ago.

ATF: I recently heard a Spanish version of your song "Easy" called "Facil".  What is your ethnic background?

PD: I'm Mexican.  Most people think that I'm something else, but I'm just Mexican.

ATF: How would you describe your sound?

PD: I'm a mix between pop and R&B

ATF: So you're a newcomer that was blessed to work with a lot of heavy-hitters on your first album, which is self-titled.  How did it feel working with all of these industry vets?

PD: It felt really, really, good!  When Clive Davis signed me, they asked who I wanted to work with, and they told me they would make it happen!  I immediately said Ne-Yo, because I feel that he is amazing and writes songs that people can relate to.  I also wanted to work with Timbaland, because I loved what he did for Aaliyah. I also worked with producers Timbaland and Danja, who produced my song "Easy".   They were amazing, and they made the song a lot of fun.  You never knew what to expect when working with them.  I also worked with Stargate, who produced a song on the album called "Walk Away".  He brought a different sound to the album.

ATF: Now, you worked with Lil' Wayne on your album version of "Easy", but in the video the song features Bow Wow.  How did this come about, and how was it working with the both of them?

PD: I loved working with both!  Lil Wayne came about because we were in the same studio and he heard the song and jumped right on it.  But for the video, we couldn't clear him in time.  I always wanted to work with Bow Wow, so we reached out to him for the video.

ATF:  Aside from Bow Wow, who are you a fan of?

PD: I'm a really big fan of Luda and Fab.  I would love to work with both of them.  I also really look up to Alicia Keys.  I used to play piano, and I really respect her as an artist.  Plus, we're labelmates, so I would love to work with her as well.

ATF: Who are some of your musical influences?

PD:  I grew up listening to Mariah Carey, Aaliyah and Alicia Keys.

ATF: When you first came out last year, you had a song called "Doin' Too Much" that I really liked.  Now you kind of go in a different direction with your song "Easy".  Which song do you feel you most shows your personality when dealing with the opposite sex?

PD: Definitely "Easy". "Easy" is a song about how guys can be too pushy sometimes.  That song is fun, and it shows my confidence.

ATF:  Do you come to New York often? I know you're a bit too young for the clubs, but do you have any favorite spots that you like to visit when you come here?

PD: Well, I've been there a couple of times, but I haven't been there in a couple of years.  I just got in town today, and I definitely plan on doing some walking around.  I'm also hitting up MTV today to tape TRL.

ATF: Great! We will look out for you.  Do you currently have any other projects in the works besides your album?

PD: Well I just recorded a song with Sean Kingston called "There's Nothing", and it is definitely going to be on his album, so look out for that.  It's Track 8.

Look out for Paula Deanda tomorrow on TRL! 1pm est. We will be watching!
