Relationship Size

I have discovered that there are two sizes a girl has... one she has during a relationship and the one she gets when she is single. I have two different sections of my closet... single and relationship. The single girl section is one size smaller than relationship size. Not that it’s a huge difference but I have noticed the serious change in workouts, eating and overall maintenance when I am single as opposed to in a relationship. Not that I let it all go and eat bon bons every day during a relationship, but in this most recent breakup I have realized that there is a motivation factor that caused me to stop eating carbs, one of my most beloved foods, and get my bootie to the gym after the breakup. 
I know that it sounds terrible that I am even mentioning the fact that there might be a chance that us as females are motivated to tailor our body to a man, but whether you are dating men or women, you have to note that as a female you head to the gym more when you are single than when you are happily ensconced in a relationship. Guys do it too, have you seen their adorable beer bellies that appear once they have a ring on their finger. 
Its sad but true that as a girl we need to get into dating shape. We need to be in our prime form and up and ready to take on the male population. It’s a bit like getting ready for a marathon. You have to prepare, train and get ready for the obstacles ahead of you. When you are at the gym, whether you are there to pick up a cute guy or get yourself in shape, you are working hard. You are motivated and ready to work on you and the body you want, and the body you think guys want. 
Every time I have been broken up with, and its been a lot, I have headed for the gym every time I get the "Its not you its me speech". I hit the gym like I am training for a marathon. It is tough because when I am in a relationship I still hit the gym but it’s more like an occasional activity. I would rather stay in bed with the boyfriend and snuggle than go to the gym, or go out to dinner and eat the yummy pasta than remember that I am on a low carb diet. It’s so easy that when you are with someone you hope that you will spend the rest of your life with that you can get comfortable with. 
So sitting on the bike this morning sweating and panting like crazy I realized that yes I am taking my relationship frustrations out on the gym. It’s a good distraction and I will be able to fit into my skinny jeans soon.
